Hey everyone! The KKB School Outreach Ministry’s (SCOM) High School Department will celebrate its 3rd anniversary on September 24 (Saturday), from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the KKB Youth Center.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Soar High.” So if you want to, well, soar high in your Christian walk, and you’re 13-23 years old, don’t dare miss this event! Yeah, we know it’s “High School Department” but of course this event is very open for college students and the out-of-school.

So if you’re going to make it, tag your friends along! The event will have a special focus on evangelism so it will really be a great time to bring friends who are struggling, or in pain, or do not know God yet.

To find out more about the SCOM HSD 3rd anniversary, go to its official faaacccebook event page by clicking here.

An unbiblical House bill on divorce, the pervasiveness of fornication, and rebellious values being spread throughout the media are just some of the threats families today have to overcome.

It’s very timely, then, to celebrate Filipino Family Day on September 26 with the rest of the nation. Made effective in 2009, Presidential Proclamation 1895 declared the commemoration of the Filipino Family Day every 4th Monday of September.

In view of this, KKB Movement enjoins all its members to make it a point to cancel all appointments and connect with their families, especially with their parents, on September 26. There are many ways to make it memorable and special!

First, initiate a regular family prayer time. Many KKBs have a regular prayer time with their families but there are some still who haven’t started this powerful activity. If your family is Christian, it might not be difficult to ask them to schedule a regular family prayer time (at least once every week) starting September 26. But if they haven’t come to Christ yet, you can grab the media hype on September 26 as an opportunity to ask your family to dine together. Ask God to give you the courage to lead the prayer for the food! In your prayer, don’t just thank God for the greasy adobo. Make it a heartfelt thanksgiving for God’s goodness and grace to your life and to your family.

Second, turn off the TV and other possible sources of distraction as you dine together. Talk! Talk! Talk! And don’t talk about your neighbor who just got fired from work. Talk about your lives and how you’re all doing. If they’re not willing to open up, ask God to help you share what He’s doing in your life.

Third, if your family’s not the “open forum” type, hand them a letter. Nothing beats an old-fashioned letter with your own handwriting in it! Appreciate them, love them, make them feel good about being your parents or siblings because it will honor the God who lives in you!

Well, these are just our suggestions. How about you? What will you do on September 26? Post your suggestions below and tell us how KKBs can make it special for their families!

KKB Chairman Joel Villanueva has a very busy schedule.

When he’s not in his TESDA office, you could only make a wild guess whether he’s distributing hot-logs-turned-armed-chairs in a Cubao public school, or convincing businessmen in Central Luzon to boost apprenticeship programs, or going around Mindanao to promote TVET (Technical Vocational Education and Training), or quickly visiting Bohol to appreciate the province’s effort in reducing poverty through STARS (Skills Training Advocating Reliance on Self Employment).

Or maybe he’s simply home with his wife, Gladys, and son, Jaden, spending quality time with them (while intermittently texting or emailing directives to KKB/CYN key leaders in Manila and abroad).

“How are we ever going to catch up with him?” you might ask.

Thanks to technology (Mark Zuckerberg, to be specific), you can now keep track of the latest with Chairman Joel by liking him on his official Facebook page. Click here and begin to post on his wall, interact with other “likers,” or tag him on his photo with you!

The Movement believes that this political maneuver directly opposes God’s will for Israel to enjoy the land God has faithfully sworn for her posterity. Thus, KKB joins Project NOYP in its signature campaign to convince President Aquino to direct the Philippine delegation to cast a NO vote, when the proposed resolution is tabled for votation in the UN General Assembly.

KKB leaders and members are enjoined to aggressively promote this cause in two ways:

Conduct local signature campaigns. The petition form may be downloaded here. A scanned copy of accomplished petition sheets must be sent through email to project.noyp@gmail.com on or before September 11, 2011. Don’t miss the deadline! The Project NOYP board will meet with the President next week.

Spread awareness. Make this your display photo on Facebook, Twitter, or whatever social networking account you’re on.

Click here to go to Project NOYP’s official website, and find out more about it.
